Hey look it's London Bridge! Actually no, it's Tower Bridge. London Bridge looks really plain and boring... |
What I did:
- A lot of museums and landmarks... Natural History Museum, British Museum, National Gallery, Tower of London, Winston Churchill War Rooms, Buckingham Palace State Rooms, tour of Parliament Buildings, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral, Trafalgar Square, Tower Bridge, Monument (yes... they got lazy when it came to naming that one I guess), Picadilly Circus, Oxford Circus, Chinatown, Olympic museum. Oh, is that all??? Now you see why I didn't have time to blog...
- Olympic Beach Volleyball
Highlights:
- So many museums and monuments to see in London. It's incredible... and quite tiring to get to them all! But it's definitely part of the London experience and I don't regret going to any of the ones that I went to during my time here.
- New friends! Thanks again for hooking me up with beach vball Diego!!!
- Met up with Vicki to continue our streak. For 3 years straight, we've met up in a place where neither of us is home! Munich - Shanghai - London. See you again next year! :P
Lowlights:
- So... I'm an idiot (I know this isn't news to most of you, just hear me out). There were two entrances for the beach volleyball venue and me and Diego had some miscommunication. Long story short, I missed the women's match and only caught the men's match (one ticket gets you in for one women's match and one men's). Women's beach volleyball... :(
STILL GOOD! :D |
They had some really weird intermission and post-game performances... |
Can't Miss: Per above, museums and monuments for sure. It's a little weird for the museums especially because you really start to realize how much the British looted from other countries back in their colonial heyday, but admission to a lot of those museums is free so I'm not going to complain! :P
Dinosaurs! So awesome!!! Feel even more childish than usual :) |
